Unique Features for Caterpillar Backhoe Loaders

Caterpillar backhoe loaders enjoy a good reputation, and with good reason. They offer a wide variety of customer-driven features that set them apart from their competitors.

On all models the availablity of an Integrated Toolcarrier option grants greater versatility and all-important ease of use with quick change forks, buckets, blades and brooms. The CAT range enjoys a wide range of backhoe attachments including augers, hammers, compactors, and a factory-installed thumb. The addition of hydraulic disconnects as standard allows fast tool exchange.

Spacious cab features ergonomic joystick controls with thumb-operated auxiliaries. From within the cab, the narrow boom allows excellent visibility during trenching and a narrow front dash provides clear line of sight to the front bucket. The optional Ride control system smooths the ride in all conditions, for comfort and most importantly, better material retention. The 3054C DIT engine is designed to give power, fuel efficiency and reliability. It offers a travel speed of 25 mph (40 kph) to get between sites faster.

The unique and hugely useful AccuGrade Site Reference System for Caterpillar backhoe loaders reduces labour costs, aids operators in maintaining a consistent slope across the worksite and reduces material cost.  Suitable for a wide range of construction and trenching applications, it ensures precise grades, accurate cuts and faster cycle times. The operator sets target grades via intuitive software and controls, and easy-to-read information on bucket position and grade settings is available on the in-cab monitor, aiding the operator in excavating to precise parameters.

Caterpillar backhoe loaders come with a powerful hydraulic system for fine precision with high productivity. The variable displacement piston pump and flow-sharing hydraulic valves sense work demand and adjust flow and pressure for increased productivity. These load-sensing hydraulics delivers a cooler, more fuel-efficient and quieter system that helps to reduce wear on components.

These examples of CAT customer-driven features explain its prominent position in the marketplace.
