Parent Of Kobleco Blames Growth Rates On China 12/11/2007

A financial report prodced by Kobe Steel in Japan, the parent of the crane manufacturer Kobleco, is produced quarterly and has shown that the demand for cranes in the Middle Eat and Southeast Asia was rather robust, during the April-September 007 trading period.

Although the company does not divide the crane sales from the hydraulic excavator sales, it has been discovered that sales in its construction business have grown 31.3% to JPY 174.8bn. This is a steady increase from the sales percentage from the same period last year.

Although sales have increased and the company is clearly growing it is not particulalry positive about its future for the next six months up to March 2008. It has predicted that the demand for construction equipment, such as cranes, from China will decrease dramatically and therefore sales will drop.

Kobe Steel specialises in manufatucring steel products, and aluminium and copper machinery. Such products include plastics procesing machinery, compressors, pressure vessels and electronic material. It also produces cranes and excavators.
