Trapped Students Saved By Backhoe Loader 01/03/2008

A father and son duo stepped in front of the face of danger to rescue trapped students from a collapsed school by using a backhoe loader. The incident occurred in Tennessee, when the Union University of Jackson collapsed in places after a tornado hit the country on the 5th of February 2008.brbr

The men who operated the heavy machinery, including a backhoe loader have since been reported to have witnessed fire-fighters and other rescue workers digging away with their hands at the collapsed buildings so as to rescue them from entrapment. The father and son who operated the backhoe loader were called in by emergency services to assist in the rescue mission. The backhoe loader, as well as other machinery assisted by removing debris from the trapped students.brbr

The backhoe loaders were ostensibly employed so as to move away heavier materials which would allow the rescue effort to move on a much faster scale. The son of the duo is reported to have used a front-end loader so as to move debris, creating a path for ambulances and emergency vehicles to move down.
